How do I get a free estimate?

What affects the cost of tree work?
Several things do. The size and height of the tree matter most. Access counts too, such as gates, fences, and slopes. A dead or weak tree takes extra care, and so does a tree close to a house, a fence, or power lines. Cleanup also plays a part, because hauling brush and cutting logs takes time. We walk you through it when we give your estimate.
How long will the job take?
It depends on the size of the tree and how complicated the job is. Trimming a small tree can go quickly. A tall tree close to a house, or one that has to come down in sections, takes longer. Cleanup adds time too. Once we have seen the property, we will tell you what to expect for your job.
When is the best time of year to trim trees?
For most trees, the dormant season from late fall through winter is a good time. You can see the branch structure clearly, and trees handle the cuts well. Spring-flowering trees are best trimmed right after they bloom. Dead, broken, or hazardous limbs should come out any time of year, so do not wait on those.
How can I tell if a tree needs to come down or just needs trimming?
A tree with sound wood and a healthy crown usually just needs trimming. Removal may be the safer choice if the trunk is cracked or hollow, the tree has started to lean, roots are lifting or damaged, fungus is growing at the base, or most of the crown is dead. We will give you an honest assessment and tell you if trimming is enough.
What should I do after storm damage?
Stay well away from any tree touching a power line, and call your utility company. Keep people and pets clear of hanging or cracked limbs. Do not climb or cut a tree that is stuck, bent, or under strain, because it can spring or fall without warning. Take photos from a safe distance, then call or text us.
What is the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Grinding uses a machine to chew the stump down below ground level. The roots stay in the soil and break down over time. Full removal digs out the stump and the main roots, which leaves a large hole and more mess. Grinding is usually enough for lawns and replanting. Full removal is for cases like building over the spot. Ask us if full removal is what you need.
Do I need a permit to remove or trim a tree?
Sometimes. Some cities, counties, and homeowner associations have rules about removing larger or protected trees, or trees near a street. Check with your city or county office and your HOA before the work is scheduled. If you are not sure who to ask, tell us where the property is and we can talk through what to ask.
How should I prepare before the crew arrives?
Move vehicles out of the driveway and away from the trees. Clear a path to the work area, and pick up toys, furniture, and yard decor. Keep pets and children inside while we work. Mark sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, and any buried pet fence so we can steer clear. If you have questions, call or text us.
What areas do you serve, and what are your hours?
We are based in Asheboro, NC, and we serve all of Randolph County, including Randleman, Archdale, Trinity, Liberty and Ramseur, as well as the rest of North Carolina and South Carolina. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. We are closed on Sunday.
